About fonorum

Fonorum was founded in October 2003 as a result of Ingvo Clauder’s initiative together with Lucas Dietrich. The main motivation for these two active musicians was the idea of directly distributing their own music and publications of sheet music. Right from the start it was also agreed that fonorum should offer the possibility for other composers and musicians to introduce themselves.

Ingvo Clauder at that time had already edited notations of the composers and pianists Anthony Green and Douglas Finch as printable editions. Other composers showed interest in having their material published by fonorum. The album by „pd conception“ was being produced and further recordings by other artists were being planned for summer 2004.

Without having too narrow an emphasis on style, the main focus for fonorum was on improvised and contemporary music on a large scale and without being restricted in a dogmatic sense.

Because of living in Stuttgart (Ingvo Clauder) and Paris (Lucas Dietrich) and being in constant contact with musicians all over Europe : mainly London and Oslo but also because of originating from Germany – therefore the German-speaking area (Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland) - there is an excellent starting point for composers, musicians and producers to work and interact. Fonorum can be seen as a basis for this cross-border exchange and for working together on projects of all kinds.
