fonorum.com news

Dear Music Fellows and Colleagues,

ever since music is recorded the storage media has changed according to technical progress. During the last fews years, we experienced a move from CDs to internet and portable equipments with built-in storage.

In 2006, fonorum started to focus on present forms of music publication. Because of the problems regarding finance, legal issues, time and bureaucracy, and the limitations of a CD and its packaging, we could only publish a fraction of the creative potential available in the fonorum network.

Therefore we want to concentrate on what we think is essential:

  • • implementation of products on the highest level with care for all details throughout the whole process
  • • rich digital presentation of the publication with online booklets, detailed information about the composers and interpreters, interviews and videos, etc.
  • • no ballast of matter and traditional distribution

fonorum is no label, no music distributor, no middleman, but rather a network. Therefore, a publication on the internet is just a logical conclusion. We think that, those points are more important than the CDs despite its indubitable advantage of being haptic.

fonorum never cared for marketing profits, but rather for what is artistically important.

The goal is we all at fonorum are not solely producers or musicians, but rather mediators and want to impart music despite all its momentariness. The format is just a format, nothing more.
